Who this group is for

For a circle of people who regularly give each other gifts: family, closest friends, classmates, neighbors. No draw is needed here. Everyone has their own lists, and the others see them and choose what to give.

How to set up a group in five minutes

  1. Create a group in the Friends & family mode. Name it so it is clear who it is for: “Our family” or “University friends”.
  2. Invite people by email or send the link in a messenger.
  3. Each member creates their list and adds wishes: with a product link or by hand.
  4. Open each other’s lists, reserve gifts and share ideas.

The detailed steps are collected in the Friends & family guide.

What the group gives you

  • One place for all the lists: no need to ask “what should I give you?” in ten chats.
  • Reservations without duplicates: when someone reserves a gift, the others see it is taken.
  • A surprise for the person receiving: the owner sees that a gift is reserved but not who reserved it.
  • Separate lists for different occasions: a birthday, a housewarming, the New Year.

Who sees the lists

Only the members of the group. Outsiders do not see the lists until you invite them to the group. For people outside the group you can send a separate personal list by link.

A group can go together with games

If you also want a game for the holidays, create a separate Secret Santa group: a draw for the gift exchange, while the lists stay in your Friends & family group.

Answers about the Friends & family group

Frequently asked questions

What is a Friends & family group?

It is a shared space for your close circle: everyone has their own wishlists, and the other members see them and can reserve gifts. No draw and no obligatory rules: you decide who gives what to whom.

How much does it cost?

Using a group is free. Create a group, invite people by email or by link and add your lists.

Who sees the lists in a group?

Only the members. To let someone see the lists you have to invite them to the group. Lists of this mode are not opened to outsiders by a link.

Do I see who reserved my gift?

No. You only see that a wish is reserved, not by whom. In the list settings the reservation marks can be hidden completely to keep the surprise.

How many lists can each member have?

As many as needed: separate lists for a birthday, a housewarming or the holidays keep ideas apart. Group members see all the lists added to the group.

How is a group different from Secret Santa?

In a Friends & family group everyone chooses what to give and sees all the lists. Secret Santa is a game with a draw where everyone prepares a gift for one person picked at random. You can use both modes, but in separate groups.
